State-of-the-Art Otoscope to Be Unveiled at Pri-Med New York City Conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State-of-the-Art Otoscope to Be Unveiled

At Pri-Med New York City Conference

Hampton, NJ (June 17, 2010) – MDScope has announced the launch of the first portable, digital video otoscope.  The MDScope is a unique otoscope featuring high resolution imaging on a built-in  video screen.  It will be unveiled at the Pri-Med New York City trade-show at the Javitz Center.  The convention will take place June 17th-19th, 2010.

An otoscope is a diagnostic tool used by health care providers to view the outer and middle ear,  with a head consisting of a light and a low powered magnifying lens.  The MDScope Video Otoscope is the first of its kind as it also features a 2.4 inch digital LCD video screen attached to its handle.  It operates with the world’s smallest camera using a 2mm x 2mm image sensing device which provides a high resolution digital image.  The image is displayed on the LCD screen and can be captured and saved by using a video out port connected to a monitor or computer.

“The most important aspect of the MD Scope is that it can be used by doctors for educational and tracking purposes,” said Joseph Blewitt, Chief Operating Officer.  “When a doctor is examining a child, there is now a visual picture for the parent to see as the doctor explains an illness.  Also, pictures can be taken before and after an illness for assessment.”

The MDScope is multi-functional as it is designed to be used with interchangeable scopes such as a dermatoscope or an ophthalmoscope.  It is used with normal exam procedures and because it runs on batteries, it is completely portable.  MDScope is FDA registered and has U.S. and worldwide patents pending.  It is packaged in a kit which includes the MDScope, carrying case, 2 AA batteries, VGA Video Cable, and 24 disposable speculum covers for a special convention only price.  For more information or to place an order visit www.mdscope.com or call 1-888-415-9234.

Joseph Blewitt is available for interviews.
