CK-MB test is part of the line of liquid, ready-to-use reagents in bar-coded cartridges
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Nov. XX, 2010) – Labs that want to continue running the CK-MB test on Synchron chemistry analyzers can contact Carolina Liquid Chemistries. The company has available a CK-MB reagent kit for use on the Beckman Syncrhon CX®, DX® and LX® chemistry analyzers.
“Our kits are available now,” said Phil Shugart, president of Carolina Chemistries. “They come with two bar-coded cartridges and two vials of lyophilized reagent.
The CK-MB reagent is for the quantitative determination of the isoenzyme Creatinine Kinase-MB in serum. CK-MB levels are elevated significantly following a heart attack, so the test is used to detect whether a patient has had an acute myocardial infarction.
“This is an excellent and cost-effective test,” Shugart says. Carolina Chemistries’ pricing for the CK-MB reagent kits is typically less than 50 percent of the price of the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
Carolina Chemistries offers a complete line of bar-coded, liquid, ready-to-use reagents that correlate 1:1 with OEM reagents, including esoteric assays such as homocysteine, Lp(a), fructosamine and GlycoMark. Customers who use the company’s reagents may qualify for a no-charge service contract. For more information about reagents or service on an older model Beckman Synchron chemistry analyzer, call (877) 722-8910 or send an e-mail to contactsales@carolinachemistries.com.
