VARICOSE VEIN TREATMENT/ABLATION SYSTEMS
Varicose veins are lumpy blood vessels that appear at the skin surface, usually in the legs. Medical equipment manufacturers have developed medical devices that are used in physician offices to remove or diminish the appearance of varicose veins.
- Sclerotherapy, a process in which varicose veins are injected with a solution that causes them to fade over time.
- Medical laser, a device that produces pulses of light at specific wavelengths, sends bursts of light into varicose veins until they fade.
- Catheter procedures, in which doctors uses a thin tube to heat the varicose veins, causing them to become smaller.
- Vein stripping, an outpatient surgical procedure to remove enlarged veins.
