Workstation The Welch Allyn PCS Spirometer connects to the Welch Allyn CardioPerfect™ Workstation software and offers all of the connectivity and advanced features of this powerful software. Please refer to the Welch Allyn CardioPerfect Workstation brochure for more information. The System The Welch Allyn PCS Spirometer system consists of a flow sensor that is connected to a PC through the serial port (RS-232). The Welch Allyn PCS Spirometer Software is compatible with almost all personal computer hardware and the system is attractively and ergonomically designed. Testing During a spirometry test, the Welch Allyn PCS Spirometer graphically displays volume-time and/or flow-volume graphs allowing for verification and reproductibility of tests. A variety of measurements are calaculated in FVC, SVC and MVV modes and can be compared to a selected reference table. Pre-installed reference tables include: ECCS, Knudson, Kory, Quanjer, Schoenberg and Zapletal. Additional reference tables can be easily added. Tags for bronchodilator and/or bronchoprovocation status are available to test results. Hard-copy printouts can be produced directly on any Windows® compatible printer, or by using a fax/modem on a remote fax. The Welch Allyn PCS Spirometer stores all data from every patient's session, ideal for delayed review, printing or inter-session comparison.
