Glucose test kits are used to determine glucose or blood sugar levels in urine. The kits usually consist of narrow, plastic test strips, the tips of which are impregnated with chemicals that most often change color when dipped into urine that contains dissolved glucose. Glucose test kits are used in physician offices and medical clinics or in patient’s homes to determine if they are spilling glucose into their urine. Glucose test kits are often used as the first step in screening for hyperglycemia or diabetes mellitus.
