COPD SCREENING
COPD screening is used in physician offices and clinics to determine the presence and extent of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in patients with respiratory symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath and poor tolerance of exertion.
COPD screening relies on devices such as spirometers, which measures the ability of patients to exhale after taking a deep breath. Lessened ability to exhale is one indicator of the presence of COPD. COPD screening can also help physicians to evaluate the effectiveness or lack of it of treatment. COPD screening is used in physician offices and clinics.
