Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is an endocrine disorder that is characterized by failure of the pancreas to produce the hormone insulin. Diabetes is categorized as Type I, in patients who have little or no insulin produced in the pancreas. Type II diabetes refers to a condition known as hyperglycemia, where there is increased resistance to insulin.
