A rapid immunochemical assay for the qualitative detection of fecal occult blood. A superior, US made, test used for routine screening of colon cancer, based on early detection of blood in the stool.
This test is patient friendly, and has an easy one-step collection procedure, which can be used at home by the patient or in the office by the physician. The test is specific to human hemoglobin which reduces false positives, as well as eliminating any dietary restrictions before testing. Coupled with superior sensitivity and specificity, this leads to earlier detection of possible colon cancer and ultimately better patient outcome.
